Dr. Youssef Josephson, D.O. – Credentials, Education & Professional Background
Founded in 2013, the practice was built on a clear vision: to change the way pain management is delivered. We wanted to create a practice focused not just on reducing pain, but on restoring function, dignity, and quality of life through innovative, evidence-based care.
Our mission is simple — help patients get their lives back. Pain impacts families, careers, and daily joy. We work to restore mobility, independence, and confidence so patients can return to the activities and people they love.
We believe pain care should focus on improving function, not just masking symptoms. Treatment plans are individualized and centered on minimally invasive solutions whenever possible. The goal is long-term improvement, not temporary relief.
Our dedicated ambulatory surgical center is located just minutes from our office.
Although it is a separate address, it operates with the same trusted staff and the same electronic medical record system.
• There is no break in care.
• The same team.
• The same physicians.
• Your information is always accessible.
That continuity provides comfort, efficiency, and safety.
We listen first. Every patient’s goals are different. Some want to play with grandchildren again. Others want to travel, work comfortably, or simply sleep through the night. Treatment is built around meaningful outcomes — not just numbers on a scale.
Every day is a combination of precision and compassion. Our mornings may involve advanced minimally invasive procedures in our surgical center, while afternoons are filled with consultations, follow ups, and collaborative care planning. While structured, no two days are ever quite the same – because no two patients are.
Compassionate. Innovative. Dedicated.
Trust is built through transparency, consistency, and results. We take time to explain conditions and treatment options thoroughly. Because patients see the same staff throughout their care – including in our surgical center – they develop relationships that foster comfort and confidence.
You are not just a chart here. We know you, and we genuinely care about your progress.
Dr. Josephson’s career path was shaped by a personal experience. His aunt suffered from metastatic breast cancer and did not have access to specialized pain care. Watching her quality of life decline due to escalating medications deeply influenced him.
He chose pain medicine with the goal of helping patients reduce pain while preserving their vibrancy, independence, and engagement in life.
Nothing motivates him more than hearing a patient say they can play with a grandchild again, wear heels again, or take a long drive to visit family.
A recent community reception in Wilkes-Barre brought together over 125 patients to discuss newer minimally invasive innovations introduced to the area. Following that event, several patients who felt discouraged underwent these procedures and experienced significant improvements. Seeing those transformations was incredibly meaningful.
These initiatives have also strengthened word-of-mouth referrals — one of the greatest compliments a physician can receive.
